Mural III

Panel Three
Whoopee!

This is our school crest. I had the kids fairly baffled writing in Irish on top and
in Latin on the bottom.

Their sunny foreheads were so crinkled trying to figure out what it said that they only realised afterwards the crest was on their jumpers all along.
"Oh look! It's here! On my jumper!
The wall's on my jumper!"

'Scoil Mhuire Máthair ár nDóchais' translates as 'Mary Mother of Hope' (our school name) in Irish.

'Per Scientiam Ad Unitatem' translates as
'Through knowledge to unity and understanding'

The book is a symbol of knowledge and learning.

The lily is the symbol of Mary.

The circle is a symbol of unity.

Here's how the full stretch of the wall looks at the moment. The last panel will feature five stages of a bulb growing into a flower. More photos to follow!
